JSPT (Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department)

JSPT, short for Jabatan Siasatan dan Penguatkuasaan Trafik or the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, is the PDRM department responsible for investigating road accidents and compiling national accident statistics.

JSPT also identifies high-risk stretches of road, sometimes called blackspots, and runs targeted enforcement during festive travel periods.[1] Its Kuala Lumpur data feeds into the accident blackspots picture for the city.

JSPT works through the district traffic branches and feeds their local data into the national picture. Other agencies also use its published statistics to plan road safety improvements.

A claimant does not usually contact JSPT. The local IPD or traffic branch handling the accident is the point of contact throughout a claim. An independent lawyer can deal with that branch for you once they take the claim on.
