About this resource
Clear help for anyone hurt on Malaysian roads, in the language you think in.
Road Accident Guide is an independent information resource for people hurt in road accidents, and for families dealing with the loss of someone they love.
This is an independent information resource, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice or represent clients. Any advice, representation and fees must be agreed directly with an independent lawyer. We publish guides in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese about road accident and personal injury claims in Malaysia.
What we do
We turn confusing legal and insurance processes into steps you can follow on your phone, often while you are still shaken or in pain.
Every guide answers one real question: who is at fault, whether a passenger can claim, what a low settlement offer really means, how long a claim takes. We write for the person at each stage, from the first hour after a crash to the day you are deciding whether to sign a release.
What makes this useful
We explain the process, the evidence you need, and the parts most sites leave out, including when you may not have a claim at all.
Legal points cite primary sources (statutes, court and government pages) where they are available. Some points rely on reputable secondary sources, and we name them as such. Each page lists its sources with the date each one was accessed. Where the law is uncertain, we say so and point you to a qualified advocate and solicitor.
This content has not yet been reviewed by a named practising lawyer. A “Reviewed by” line will appear on a page only when a real reviewer has checked it.
How we help you get help
If you are considering engaging a lawyer for your road accident claim, you can request contact through WhatsApp. Where appropriate, we can help connect you with an independent lawyer or law firm; availability and acceptance remain for the independent lawyer to confirm.
Contact requests need only a brief outline at first; the contact page lists the basic details. Keep medical records, police reports and identity documents private until you agree a suitable sharing method with a lawyer.
If an independent lawyer is available and can assist, discuss the scope, fees and terms directly before deciding whether to engage them. Sending a message does not create a lawyer-client relationship.
