IPD (district police headquarters)
An IPD, short for Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah or district police headquarters, is the main police station for a district, and it is normally where an accident causing injury or property damage is formally reported.
Each IPD has its own traffic branch that investigates accidents within that district, which is why the right time and place to report can depend on where the crash happened. A minor accident with no injury may instead qualify for online reporting.
Larger districts may have smaller police stations under the same IPD, so ask which one handles traffic reports. Staff there can usually also advise on the sketch plan process.
If the report or sketch plan is delayed, an independent lawyer can request the documents for your claim.
