High Court
The High Court is the superior civil court in Malaysia, generally hearing claims above the value handled by the subordinate courts.
For most civil disputes, a High Court claim starts once the sum involved passes a set threshold.[1] Road accident claims are an exception. The Sessions Court has unlimited jurisdiction over them, so even a very serious injury claim is usually filed there.
The High Court still matters through its appeal role, since a Sessions Court decision can be appealed to it.
Filing a claim in court explains which court handles a typical claim. If an appeal is on the table, an independent lawyer can act for you on it.
