KL and Selangor claim guide
Where your claim is heard and where your medical report comes from, area by area.
This guide shows which court would hear your road accident claim, and which government hospital issues the medical report that proves your injuries. It goes area by area.
It draws on the Judiciary’s court listings and the Ministry of Health hospital network. Use it to orient yourself, then ask about your exact situation.
How your claim is heard
Almost every road accident injury claim in the Klang Valley is filed in the Sessions Court. That court has unlimited jurisdiction for motor-vehicle accident claims.[1] The size of your injury does not push the case to a higher court.
A claim that is only about vehicle damage, and is small, can instead go to the Magistrates Court, which hears civil claims up to RM100,000.[2] Your lawyer files the case in the correct court, so this is background, not a decision you make.
Area by area: court and hospital
The table maps 26 areas to the court that would hear a claim and the nearest government hospital, where crash victims are treated and medical reports are issued. The last column lists the busy routes near each area.

How to use this
Find your area, note the court and the hospital, and keep every document from that hospital, from the emergency record to the specialist report.
If your accident happened on one of the listed roads, note the road name, because it helps show where the crash occurred and which police station handled it. The road accident claim process covers what to gather, and the medical report for a claim explains why the report matters.
An independent lawyer can take your claim on, including the court filing and the medical report. Send the accident date, where it happened, whether anyone was injured (yes/no), and the police report status. You can also start from making a road accident claim.

Common questions
Does it matter which court my claim goes to?
For your effort, not much. A road accident injury claim in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor is almost always filed in the Sessions Court, which has no ringgit limit for motor claims. Your lawyer files it in the right place; you do not choose the court yourself.
Why does the hospital matter for a claim?
The specialist medical report that proves your injuries usually comes from the government hospital that treated you. That report drives how your injury is assessed, so keeping every record from that hospital matters.
My area is not on the list. What do I do?
The table covers the main areas of KL and Selangor. If your area is nearby, the closest listed area is a good guide, and a short message lets an independent lawyer work out the right court and hospital for your exact location.
Can I be treated at a private hospital and still claim?
Yes, though the process differs and costs are handled differently. A government hospital report is the usual backbone of a claim, so tell us whether anyone was injured (yes/no), and an independent lawyer can act on it for you.
